Renumbering Copying a part is sometimes necessary when manufacturers change a part number or when vendors change to a new distributor. When a part is renumbered, existing requisitions and history records are updated to reflect the new part number. If you end up reusing the old part number for a different part, you may want to delete the transaction history for the original part beforehand so it's not mistaken as history for the new part.if you would like to create a new part record in another facility but do not necessarily want to create it from scratch. The copy utility will copy over just the main master information for the part found in the main part record screen:

  • A Manage Part side panel will open up from the Manage Part button

  • Select the Renumber Copy Radio button

  • Change the part number in the “Renumber To” field

    1. If the Vendor Part Number also needs to be renumbered to match the entry, check the box to do so

  • From here you select the “Facility” to Copy to from pull down list

    1. You can select an initial on hand quantity for the new part being copied over or you can put an initial value of 0 (Zero) if you wish

    2. You can select an initial on Part Price for the new part being copied over or you can put an initial value of $0.00 if you wish
