Paperless Shop is extremely easy for mechanics to use. The Login option (WPL) allows tracking and organization of mechanics' tasks such as working on direct jobs, working on indirect jobs, and posting parts and/or tires.
The daily routine for mechanics, using Paperless Shop, will go something like this: clock in for the day, work on vehicles (direct jobs), take paid and lunch breaks, process work orders, work on various jobs in the shop or on the road (indirect jobs), and clock off for the day. The Login option is where the mechanics will spend most of their time. In fact, a special icon or batch program can be set up to call up just the Login option (refer to the "Mechanic Workstation" section in Chapter 1). Setting up the shop terminals this way not only speeds up and simplifies the procedures for the mechanics but it also helps to secure other options in the RTA system.
