Publisher could not be verified or Unknown Publisher
Problem
When launching the RTA program you receive the message “The Publisher Could Not Be Verified” or "Unknown Publisher".
Solution
Through Internet Explorer(preferred)
- Go into Internet Explorer, Tools, Options, Security, Local Intranet (not internet)
Set this to Medium Low or... Go into Custom, and change the Launching Applications or Unsafe Files from Prompt to Enable.
Through Group Policy Manager
Log into windows as a user with administrator rights.
Click Start–>Run and type gpedit.msc. Click OK
Go to User Configuration–>Administrative Templates–>Windows Components–>Attachment Manager
Add “*.exe” to the “Inclusion list for moderate risk file types” setting. You can also add other file types.
