Special globally-defined fields can be assigned in the vehicle records (MVM), allowing vast customization of the information recorded for each vehicle. In this screen you manage the customized fields that are specific to the vehicle classification. These fields will then be used in the Vehicle Master Screen (MVM) to track various information applicable to all vehicle records of that specific vehicle class.

Assigning a Class Global Defined Field Set

To add a vehicle global defined code record, do the following:

1. Select Master > Vehicle > Global Data Fields > GDF Class from the RTA main menu (MVOC).
2. Enter a vehicle class code or select one from the list by pressing <F1>.
3. A list of existing definable fields for that class are displayed.
4. Select a Global Defined Field from the master GDF list.
5. Click the Add/Update button.

Editing a Class Global Defined Field Set

To add a vehicle global defined code record, do the following:

1. Select Master > Vehicle > Global Data Fields > GDF Class from the RTA main menu (MVOC).
2. Enter a vehicle class code or select one from the list by pressing <F1>.
3. A list of existing definable fields are displayed.
4. Select a code from the list by double-clicking on it.
5. Make desired changes or delete the field.
6. Save the record.

Utility for Adding Global Defined Fields to Multiple Vehicles

To add a vehicle global defined code or class global defined code to multiple vehicles, do the following:

1. Select Master > Vehicle > Global Data Fields > Global Add GDF from the RTA main menu (MVOA).
2. Select whether you wish to add vehicle GDFs or Class GDFs.
3. Use the checkboxes to select field names on the left side of the screen to be added.
4. Use the checkboxes to select vehicles on the right side of the screen to receive the new fields.
5. Click OK to proceed with updating vehicles.

Utility for Setting Global Defined Field Values to Multiple Vehicles

To add a vehicle global defined code or class global defined code to multiple vehicles, do the following:

1. Select Master > Vehicle > Global Data Fields > Global Set GDF Data from the RTA main menu (MVOS).
2. Select a Global Defined Field to update.
3. Fill in the value you wish to populate for that field.
4. Use the checkboxes to select vehicles to receive the new field value.
5. Click OK to proceed with updating vehicles.
