Samsara Duplicate VIN Troubleshooting

When replacing a Samsara Gateway device, a duplicate or “ghost” VIN may be present in Samsara’s database. This duplication causes duplicated entries when asset odometer information is collected for the integration.

Follow the below steps to remove the duplication.

  1. Access the vehicle settings on the virtual vehicle

  2. Click the “Edit” button next to the VIN and delete it OR

  3. Scroll to the bottom and delete the virtual vehicle
