If you would like more control over what is entered in the vehicle make and model fields, you can configure a list of desired options and then restrict entries to these choices.

Adding Make & Model Combinations

1. Select Master > Vehicle > Make Code from the RTA main menu (MVE).
2. Enter a vehicle make and press Add. The Make code is an alphanumeric field allowing up to fifteen characters
3. Click the Save button on the toolbar or select File > Save.
4. Click the Add Model button that has now appeared at the bottom of the window.Enter a Model and click the Save button on the toolbar or select File > Save.Repeat for each additional Model associated with this Make.

Restricting Make and Model to Selections

1. Select System > Setup System Switches > Miscellaneous Parameters I from the RTA main menu (SSI, Miscellaneous I tab).
2. Edit switch #4 ("Vehicle Make/Model List") and set it to YES.
3. Now, when a vehicle is edited (MVM), users will not be able to enter freestyle text into the make and model fields. An F1 lookup list option is available for each field. Users must select a valid Make and Model combination from the defined lists.

Deleting a Model

1. Select Master > Vehicle > Make Code from the RTA main menu (MVE).
2. Enter the desired Make or press F1 for a list of Makes.
3. Highlight the Model and click the Delete Model button at the bottom of the window.

Deleting a Make

1. Select Master > Vehicle > Make Code from the RTA main menu (MVE).
2. Enter the desired Make or press F1 for a list of Makes.
3. Click the trashcan icon on the toolbar or select Utilities > Delete Model.

Note that a Make cannot be deleted that is currently assigned to vehicles.
